• Start getting yourself noticed and brand yourself. Promote who you are and get your name out there saying that you’re a video game tester and why you’re better than everyone else. Thankfully this is an easy task due to the internet. Through YouTube alone, many people have become rising stars and branded themselves like smosh and lonelygirl15.
• You must play games often. The more gamest that you play, the quicker it’ll be for you to adapt to new games. If you can get into the flow of different style video games faster, then you’re going to be much more useful to the company than the other employee who takes a while.
• Do not sign up for a video game tester program. Now there has been some confusion about these two. A program is a game testing scam that guarantees that you’ll get a job, whereas a course tells you how to do it. Don’t get into programs because they don’t work, and you shouldn’t be paying more than $40 trying to get a job. Courses should be used though due to the fact that they work really well and tell you the proper skills needed in the industry and how you can get a job.
• You have to play the newest and hottest games on the market. By doing this you’ll be more useful to the company because you’ll know how their game matches up to their competitors.
