Are You Too Fat To Wear A Corset?

Are you too fat to wear a corset? Believe it or not I get asked this a lot and as you can imagine there can be controversy surrounding such a question. But my answer is simple, you are absolutely not too fat or too big to wear a corset. Plus size corsets are all the rage and so they should be in my opinion!

I personally hate the words fat and skinny, I feel that they are quite offensive and unnecessary. But that is a whole other article, so I’ll just stick with the question in hand for now.

Why can’t women of any size wear a corset? Why should society make them feel that just because some are bigger and some much smaller than what is deemed your average sized lady, that they cannot go out in a stunning corset and feel amazing? Because this world is one big gigantic judgemental place, materialistic and I believe to be quite unfair. You wouldn’t go up to someone and say they are too ugly to buy that corset, so why say they are too fat?

Confidence plays a huge part in this too. Women should not care how others view them and what their opinions are of what they might want to wear out. As long as a woman is wearing a good supporting steel boned corset, whether it be an under bust corset or over bust corset and not a cheap £10 eBay creation, then they would look amazing. A steel boned corset will give the hold that curves need to shape them and support them. A good steel boned corset will be made of double layered fabric and have a minimum of 12 steel bones running evenly throughout it.

The same is recommended for large chested ladies. If you’re small but still have a large bust, then you’ll need a supported over bust corset and a steel boned corset will give you that. I am a 36E cup and size 10 waist and only ever wear steel boned corsets. The cheap plastic boned corsets generally get bent out of shape by my bust, so imagine what they would look like on a size 22 lady? Not great. But a steel boned corset will shape that size 22, smooth your figure out and pull you in by up to 4-5 inches. One of my friends is a size 26 and oozes confidence, wears over bust corsets and has men dropping at her feet! It just goes to show that size really doesn’t matter and those that think it does, are just narrow minded. Every good company should have a plus size corset range, go find your perfect corset.

Dig deep and find your confidence ladies and wear that corset you’ve had your eye on.
