The great Isaac Newton stated in his third law of motion saying “to every action there is an equal and opposite reaction”. This means that every action has a reaction. In life everything we do whether great or small, good or bad has a consequence which could either be positive or negative. The consequences may be abrupt or it may take time to come to effect, it could be so may years but the fact still remains that it must come to pass. Fornication is a sin that God hates, God does not hate sinners, what he hates is sin. The bible says his eyes are so pure that they can not behold iniquity.

So many Christians take fornication for granted and live a carefree lifestyle, all they say is that God will understand so let us enjoy after all he is a merciful father and when we come to him in repentance he will forgive, we joke with his commands. He will indeed understand that your are disobedient to his commands and he expects you to also understand when he punishes you because you also know that “he honours his word more than his name” and that he hates sin. “No sin shall go unpunished, what ever a man sows that he shall reap” there are no two ways about this, it is very clear that you will surely be rewarded for whatever you do either good or bad. God is love and there is not doubt about this and he has proven his love times without number and will continually prove it but many also forget that he is merciful but also dangerous.

“for our God is a consuming fire” Hebrews 12:29(KJV).

Our God is two-sided, He blesses and He curses, He rewards and also punishes, He can do and undo therefore He should not be taken for granted. ” the Lord killeth and maketh alive:he bringeth low and lifteth up, He raiseth the poor out of the dust and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill,to set them among princes,and to make them inherit the throne of glory:for the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s and he hath set the world upon them. He will keep the feet of his saints; and the wicked shall be silent in darkness: for by strength shall no man prevail.” 1 Samuel 2:6-9(KJV).

It does not matter how long it takes, the consequences of fornication will always prevail. Fornication is a menace and has negative effects affecting people in various ramifications in life. It rubs a man of his rites both physically, spiritually and otherwise. Now let us look at this:

“and it came to pass when Israel dwelt in the land, that Reuben went and lay with bilhah his fathers concubine and Israel heard it. Now the sons of Jacob are twelve” Genesis 35:22(KJV).

Reuben went into his father’s concubine, he fornicated with her and actually thought his father would not be aware, he carried out this evil and disgusting act and continued with life not knowing that a punishment awaits him in the future. Reuben was the first son and the first born of Israel, he was the heir to Israel’s throne and a symbol of authority, he was suppose to be a blessing, an epitome of success, he was suppose to be a pathfinder but Reuben lost is all at the altar of fornication, the minute pleasure of sin many years ago wrecked and daunted his promising future and hindered him from his blessings.

“Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might and the beginning of my strength, the excellence of dignity and excellence of power. Unstable as water thou shalt not excel because thou wentest up to thy father’s bed, then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.” Genesis 49:3-4(KJV)

Israel was old and was about to die, he requested his sons come together that he might tell them what shall befall them, of the 12 sons Reuben was the eldest and as such he expected the most blessing which was actually his rite traditionally, his expectation must have been so high but as Israel looked up to Reuben he said Reuben “thou art my firstborn “he reminded Reuben of his privileged position in the family as a firstborn and first son, a double honour, I guess Reuben would have nodded to that, he continued “my might” and “the beginning of my strength”-he meant it was with you i proved to the world that i am a potent man, Reuben would have been happy, he said “the excellence of dignity” and “the excellence of power”-he meant Reuben was to in charge and lead, an i wonder how excited and relaxed Reuben would have been hearing all these sweet words from his father, for once Reuben would have been confident in himself, his hopes were raised high but he was shocked, surprised and disappointed when Israel said “unstable as water thou shalt not excel”. Reuben and his 11 brothers for a moment would have been dumbfounded and looked at each other wondering what was happening until Jacob said “thou wentest up to thy father’s bed and defiled it”. Jacob did not stop there he re-emphasized in agony “he went up to my couch”. Lo and behold Reuben received a curse instead of a blessing because of the sin of fornication, the thing he did in secret and thought no one knew about was brought out in the open.

“there is nothing hidden under the sun, whatever you do in the secret shall one day be revealed”

Reuben lost out and missed his blessings not because his father hated him but because of the sin he committed, perhaps he committed it just once like many of us would say “i did it just once” but we may never have the opportunity to correct the wrong we’ve done even if it is only once. God hates fornication and punishes fornicators, fornication brings shame and disrespect, it makes a man lose his potency in the spiritual, it belittles. Christians ought to be very careful. The consequence of fornication could be so great that we could cry out “had i know”. There may never be a chance to say am sorry so live your life righteously and fear the Lord.

“Be not deceived for God can not be mocked”.

Fornication has also resulted in several unwanted pregnancies, where many are aborting and some even lost there womb or even there lives in the process of abortion. Fornication has also inflicted many with several kinds of diseases such as STDs and AIDS.

” losing your destiny as a consequence of fornication is not what can be prevented with human measure like you prevent the occurrence of AIDS and other disease with condoms, or like you also prevent pregnancies with the aid of contraceptives or with any other preventive measure. It can only be prevented be adherence to God’s commands.”

” For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life. Can a man take fire in his bosom and his clothes not be burned? Can one go upon hot coals and his feet not be burned?” Proverbs 6:26-28(KJV).

Every man and woman has to be very careful about sexual immorality because it is a dangerous ground to tread upon, it reduces a man to a piece of bread and hunts the precious life that God has given, fornication only seeks to maim a man, to destroy that which God has given to you. The bible calls it fire and you can not carry fire on you and you won’t get consumed, that is how you can not escape from the wrath of God on fornication or sexual immorality no matter what. Do not joke with this act and its dangerous, consuming consequence because you many never come out of it alive.

Another consequence that many believers do not know about is demonic possession, so many individuals living in the surface are demonically possess by one strange spirit or the other, some are aware they are possess why some or not. The devil possesses both males and females and this demonic possession is contagious. This means that when a normal person goes fornicates with a demonized individual, the person in one way or the other becomes initiated. This is one many people experience demonic oppressions and disturbances either through dreams or any other means but they can not fathom it, they begin to experience strange feelings and they become confused, that is because many have tangled themselves with spiritual forces through sexual intercourse. So many are not cautious and conscious of this fact, many believers it never exists, they say it just a feeling it is not reality and therefore many are under the influence of Satan even in marriage and they think they are normal. As Christians we should be watchful and conscious of the fact that the physical is ruled by the spiritual, spiritual forces are for real, they exist whether you believe it or not. Devil and his agents are doing their best to make Christians fail, they is why a Christian should not just date anybody and anyhow, Christians must be careful of any sexual relationship they are in to and put fornication and adultery completely aside. The battle is beyond the physical.

” For we wrestle not against flesh an blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” Ephesians 6:12(KJV).

Paul the apostle was pointing out the forces that surround the earth, they are not ordinary, not physical, not flesh and blood and therefore they are spiritual forces of wickedness and these forces are powerful. The battle here is not what an ordinary man with ordinary ideas and principles can overcome and that is why he told them to “put on the whole armour of God that ye might be able to stand against the wiles of the devil”. You will fall without the complete armour of the Lord, the armour of the Lord is the Lord’s instructions.

“you can only tackle the spiritual with the spiritual”

Let me remind you that the great consequence of demonic possession can not be overcome with condoms whereby many are deceived with. It is not physical and a physical means can not prevent it so we should be careful. So many marriages and relationships are failing and have failed today because one partner in a relationship has entangled him or herself in a wrong union with a demonic possessed individual and the devil will not just allow you use his property and go free just like that, he is wiser than that. Businesses and spiritual lives have also crumbled because of a wrong union with the possessed. Unhappiness, failure, unrest; fear and lack of peace are also consequences of fornication. Many find themselves failing in whatever they do and they think it is not time for them to excel or they think that it is not what God wants to come their way not knowing that they are under the demonic influence of the devil because they have bonded themselves with the devil.

” Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God: as God hath said, I will dwell in them and walk in them: and I will be their God and they shall be my people” 2 Corinthians 6:14-16(KJV).

Our body is God’s own and his temple therefore we ought to keep them sanitized always, we should maintain and not desecrate it. We are children of light and we should walk and shine as such and we should not be yoked with the devil because we should not have any relationship with him. Visiting harlot or sex houses is a sin and God frowns at it, pornography pollutes the mind and is profane to the eyes of the Lord, God also hates every other perversion.

” Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived neither fornicators, not idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind” 1 Corinthians 6:9(KJV).

The greatest of all consequences of fornication is losing heaven and perishing in hell, for no fornicator or adulterer will inherit the kingdom of heaven, the bible says we should not be deceived, there is no two ways about it. What happens when you get the ungodly pleasure of sex here on earth and lose your soul in hell, it does not make sense, so we should be wise not to miss out the eternal pleasure and peace with God our maker in heaven.
