Inspirational hankies, or prayer hankies as some like to call them, have become very popular, but what exactly are their uses.

First, Prayer hankies can be used to anoint with oil, and given to someone who is sick or in need of a miracle of any kind. According to the Word of God, Acts 19:11-12 , prayer cloths were made from handkerchiefs, and aprons that had been touched by Paul, and were then given to the sick. The Word says that their illnesses were cured, and the evil spirits left them. Since there is obviously no power in a handkerchief or apron, the power resided in the spiritual anointing of Paul, and the faith of the receiver. It is the faith accompanying the administration of the handkerchief that brings healing and miracles.

Secondly, they make wonderful gifts for people in the hospital, or for anyone who is going through a difficult time. Giving a prayer hankie to someone with a healing scripture, prayer, or prayer confession on it, is a great source of encouragement. It reminds them that they are not alone.

Thirdly, prayer handkerchiefs also make wonderful keepsakes for weddings, births, and funerals.

You can pin them inside wedding dresses, have a babies birth date put on one , or, you can use give them to a family as a lifetime memorial for a family member who has passed away. Wha

The forth use is one of my favorites, you can use a prayer handkerchief to simply hold on to when you pray. I have always loved the word of God, and when I stand in need of anything, I love to pray and quote the scripture, or prayer confession before the Lord. You also have something handy to wipe your tears with.I have seen great answers to prayers by standing on the Word of God, and especially now, in the trying times that we are living in today. Prayer hankies would make a wonderful inexpensive gift to those in need.

The fifth reason is very simple. You can use them for everyday! O.K, I can just hear you now.”What,

Gasp! Choke! Blow my nose on a prayer hankie! NEVER! Can’t you go to hell for that”? lol

I know of many people who just love carrying handkerchiefs with scriptures and prayers on them to church, after all,they are handkerchiefs, and they can be a great conversation piece and witness.

Prayer hankies are such a blessing, and they have so many uses. I believe the prayer hankie is here to stay.
