Top 5 Ways to Deal With Stress – Relax and Enjoy Life

How to deal with stress

1 – Exercise

Nothing is better for your mental and physical health than exercise. It gets your endorphins pumping – endorphins are the chocolate to your brain. They get you to feel good, and they calm you. While exercising, you forget about your problems and your main concern is feeling good. Your body feels better after a good training session, and your mind is calm and focused.

2 – Don’t try to do everything at the same time

You can’t do everything well if you are rushing from one task to another. Calm down and reduce your duties. That way you will have more time for each assignment and your mind will be focused and relaxed. You also must choose to do things that are important to you and, at the same time, that give you pleasure. If you do that, you will start the day with energy, and ready to face anything.

3 – Think positively

When your mind is focused on thinking about all the bad things that could happen you are constantly facing a state of major stress. Good things happen too… Think that are better chances of achieving your goals than to fail. When you are about to have an important work meeting, see it going perfectly in your mind, before it really happens. Don’t even think it can go wrong. That way you feel calm and relaxed and things go smoothly.

4 – Change your diet

A balanced diet is proven to help you manage your stress, due to certain vitamins and minerals found in food. Reduce your sugar, caffeine and alcohol intake. Whole grains have in their composition carbohydrates, which boost serotonin (another chemical that makes you feel good) in the brain. They also have lots of B vitamins, which give you energy and combat the fatigue that is commonly associated with stress. Eat fruits and vegetables, because they are rich in antioxidants, such as vitamins C and E and beta-carotene. You should also eat nuts and seeds, such as almonds and sunflower seeds, rich in vitamin E, which help to boost immunity.

5 – Do some relaxation exercises

Sometimes we think that relaxing is just lying down quietly, at the end of a stressful day. This reduces poorly the effects of stress. To effectively reduce its effects, and boost your energy, you should practice some type of relaxation technique, such as deep breathing, meditation, rhythmic exercises, or yoga. That would really help you to improve your quality of life.
