Similar to Shimla, this hill resort still very well maintains it British touch. It was named after Viceroy Lord Dalhousie. Kodaikanal: Nestled coyly in the southern crest of upper Palani Hills in Tamil Nadu, Kodaikanal hill station is the pride of southern India peninsula. Kodaikanal hill station which is located very close to temple city Madurai, is famous for its sylvan valley, rocks, deep forest, Berijam lake, and the most unique thing i.e Kurunji plant that last blooms in 2004. Panchgani: Discovered by the Britishers as a summer resort, Panchgani is one of the beautiful hill resort of Maharashtra. This tiny hill station is only 285 km, 100km and 18 km, respectively from Mumbai, Pune and Mahabaleshwar. Temperature of this hill resort varies with the change in season. During winter, the temperature of this place drops down to 12c whereas in summer, temperature rises to only 30c in compare to other places of Maharashtra. Panchgani is dotted with some wonderful tourist spots namely Sydney point, Table land, Pars Point and Devil’s kitchen etc.
