Buying cheap charms can be very tempting, especially when you see just how good the prices are, however sometimes you may end up with more items than you can think what to do with. Just because you have too many pieces, it does not mean that you have to just throw them into the bin! There are plenty of different ideas that you can try out, if you find that you have too many cheap charms to turn into jewelry items.

Phone accessories

These accessories are very popular in Japan and South Korea, and they are often spotted in other places too. It is easy to create homemade phone accessories such as these by attaching as small, strong loop of cord to the charm. To attach it to your phone, squeeze the end of the loop that is not attached to charm, so that it can be threaded through the space on your phone. Push the loop through half way, so that it comes out of the other side, then slide the other end through the protruding loop. Pull taut to secure your new phone accessory.

Greetings cards

To make a fun and unique greeting card, fold some sturdy card in half and create a design on the “front” of the card. This design should include an area which will be bigger than the cheap charms you are using, which will be cut out. Carefully cut this area out, using a craft knife. You will also need to create a small hole which your charm can freely hang from. Using a very delicate piece of cotton, hang the charm from the loop so that it hangs down into the cutout area on the front of the card. Once your friend or family member has enjoyed the card, they will be free to remove the charm and use it in any other projects, so this even acts as an extra present!

Pet Collar

Pet owners are always looking for new and unique ways to make their pets look (and feel) more special. If you want to make your pet’s collar look a little bit different, you can affix some cheap charms using lobster claw clasps. This means that they will be secure, but you can also take them on and off whenever you need to. You can even give your dog a different look every month. Whenever you are using charms around your pets, make sure that they are very secure, as your pet could do themselves damage if they were able to swallow any jewelry items.

Stringing pieces together on a beautiful silky ribbon is a great way to create a fun and stylish bookmark for your books. You can create a lot of different designs, and it is even possible to create thematic bookmarks, which will match up with the genre of book you are reading. Put charms at the bottom and top of the ribbon for weight, but leave the middle clear so that you do not damage the book.
