In the world of Fallout: London, as in Fallout games of the past, citizens that share a common ideology have grouped up into various groups to further a common goal. The Kings of Fallout: London

Fallout: London – The Gentry, Explained

The Gentry are Fallout: London‘s head honchos, the current monarchs in the post-apocalyptic city. They are the descendants of pre-war aristocrats and government officials who have now taken to controlling the population of London through strict rule. They believe that one must possess a royal charter to be made official in the city, and pay tribute in exchange for protection and aid, which makes them not much different than the gangsters they fight against.

Claiming to exist within the boundaries of democracy, The Gentry is said to be more of a Feudal Aristocratic Hegemony in truth. As with many factions in the Fallout lore, things are not always as they seem. The Gentry seem to be controlling or otherwise oppressing nearly every other faction in the City of London, and the events of the game will likely see this reaching a boiling point. The primary group under the thumb of The Gentry are The Tommies, who are unknowingly made pawns.

Fallout: London – The Tommies, Explained

The Tommies originally were established as a citizen militia to defend the innocent people of London. However, by the time of Fallout: London‘s story, The Tommies have become complacent with the fact that they are now being used by The Gentry. Seemingly not the type to question orders, The Tommies follow along without care, even though they receive no reward. They are the current defenders of Fallout‘s London and will be seen by players patrolling the city.

With a design based on the British infantry from WW1 in a distinct Fallout retro-futuristic style, The Tommies successfully represent London in the established Fallout universe. According to the creators of Fallout: London, The Tommies may very well play an important role in determining the outcome of London’s future. As they are the muscle of the current leaders, they presumably hold the real power if they decide to overthrow the current rule. It will be interesting to see if players will have the opportunity to align with The Tommies and incite revolution from the inside. Regardless, The Tommies and The Gentry seem to be two very interesting factions that feel right at home in Fallout: London.
