Using the outpost system in Starfield, a player constructs their base of operations by nestling it deep into a canyon on Archimedes V-a. While there is certainly an argument to be made that the procedural generation in Starfield could have been better implemented, it is still capable of creating some impressive alien environments. One of these happens to be the first moon of Archimedes V, with its striking green skies, reddish mountains, and beautiful cherry tree groves.

This Starfield world is located near the western end of the Settled Systems, and as such, the entire star system of Archimedes has a recommended level of 75. That being said, players aren’t prevented from exploring it early, and shooting its over-leveled fauna is a quick way to earn experience in Starfield. However, for players interested in building an outpost in the scenic wilderness of Archimedes V-a, the moon has both Iron, Nickel, and Copper on its surface, as well as Ytterbium, Palladium, and Tantalum for the more exotic materials.

Starfield Player’s Outpost Breaks After Almost 600 Hours of Gameplay

After experiencing constant crashes due to a long playthrough, a Starfield player is forced to enter Unity in hopes of escaping a gamebreaking bug.

A Starfield player named torsal found an ideal location for their outpost by coming across a narrow canyon on Archimedes V-a, and they designed their home away from Constellation specifically with its geographical features in mind. What makes this feat so impressive is that torsal relied on trial-and-error to successfully clip the cliff-side into the habitats themselves, giving the interior of the outpost a unique type of charm. As an Xbox player, torsal couldn’t rely on Starfield mods to make this process easier, and instead used the attachment system of habitat modules to partially build them into the mountain wall.

While official modding support for Starfield won’t be released until early 2024, the community has already seen some impressive mods come out on the PC, such as new ship habitats, Starborn outfit replacers, and even mods that make Starfield more immersive by changing a few parameters in the game’s configuration file. Though it remains to be seen how the newly announced Bethesda Creations will fit into Starfield, outpost decorations are bound to be popular categories in the near future.

Another important aspect to consider is that Bethesda may also add new content for outposts through the upcoming Shattered Space DLC for Starfield, especially if it turns out to have a House Va’ruun focus. What little is known about the enigmatic faction paints them as being technologically advanced compared to the rest of the Settled Systems, and being able to build Va’ruun habitats would be an amazing role-play opportunity for players who picked the Serpent’s Embrace trait during character creation. Though it remains to be seen what post-launch support for Starfield will be like compared to past Bethesda titles, the game will almost certainly be much improved a year from now.
